A huge salad for lunch has got to be one of my guilty pleasures in life. Curling up into a chair with a book, a bowl and a fork is a daily source of joy and nourishment. Fancy Simple Chicken Dinner

Tonight we made a belated Father’s Day dinner. I had wanted to finish it off with a cherry pie ironically I’ve been too overwhelmed with cherries to accomplish it! I think that August might be the peak month for produce shopping at the local market. I could be wrong but I think mid-August might provide the widest array and biggest cross-section of fruits and vegetables. Apples and pears start to come in while  you still have all the summer berries blueberries, strawberries, blackberries (my favorite) and even the tail end of raspberries can be found in August.
